iPhone 8: What to expect from the next groundbreaking Apple Product

A Few months after Apple had released the much talked about  iPhone 7 into the market, a lot of tech enthusiasts have shifted their gaze to the upcoming mobile device from the company. The iPhone 8 as speculations have started rolling in the media regarding the possible specs and features the new device expected to hit the market in 2017 will be packing.

Rumors of the upcoming iPhone 8 suggest that Apple may be looking to redesign the expected smartphone for 2017 thereby ditching its original design as it did with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus variant.

The iPhone 8 based on existing tech is expected to feature some tech advancement including the integrated Touch ID fingerprint sensor and a superb front-facing camera. However, rumors also hold that Apple may be planning a glass body for the iPhone 8 with an edge-to-edge OLED display in the works.

The possible screen size on the iPhone 8 is, however, a source of major controversy as it was before the release of the iPhone 7 as fans feared Apple might revert to a smaller screen as in the iPhone 5 and older versions. Rumours, however, put the range between the 4.8-inch as featured in older devices to a 5.8-inch wonder.

Marking its 10th year anniversary the same year it’ll be releasing the iPhone 8 is a big deal as Apple has been rumored to be testing more than ten prototypes for the next model of its device rollout  which according to speculations may turn out to sport a radical design. Other tech analysts suggest that the iPhone 8 will ditch the usual home button – which is more of a trademark in Apple’s design, which further backs the expected radical design- and also feature a front-facing camera built into its display which will indeed be super amazing.

The iPhone 8’s body design is expected to run in line with the iPhone 4 which sports a glass body meaning iPhone may finally be ditching the iPhone 5, 5s, 6, 6s and SE body design. The much-expected smartphone is also tipped to run on the 10-nanometer A11 chip suggesting a faster and more efficient device coupled with other features including the long-range wireless charging and a possible iris or facial scanner.

A source within Apple reported that “the introduction of Touch ID on the iPhone 5s ushered in a whole new level of mobile security and convenience, but Apple plans to bump its biometrics integration up a notch or two.”

The source speaking on the possibility of introducing a working iris scanner in the new iPhone 8 continued: “One rumor, prompted by a leak from a Chinese chip manufacturer, suggests the next iPhone will feature iris-scanning technology. That means you might be able to unlock your phone or pay for stuff via Apple Pay, just by looking into a little camera on the screen. Considering Apple’s also acquired some companies that specialize in facial recognition in recent years, some speculate it may also come equipped with face-scanning tech, which would open the door to a whole bunch of new and exciting features and be a huge boon for the advancement of augmented reality.”

A new report on Apple’s next device suggests that Apple may be looking to roll out three versions of the iPhone 8 device as against the two variants it released for the iPhone 6 and 7. The naming of the device is however pegged at iPhone 8, and 8 Plus with shady details regarding the possible naming of the third variant should Apple decide to impress its fans.

Release Date:

The possible release date for the iPhone 8 is probably the second most important information to be known. Considering the trend Apple has set in time past with the launch of its previous model; the iPhones 5, 5s, 6, 6s and 7 all revealed in September. The iPhone 8 is expected to follow in line and therefore suggests a grand unveiling of the iPhone 8 in September, the release date is also expected to fall in the last quarter of the year.
