At the recently concluded CES 2017, Acer wowed the audience with its brand new device – the new Acer Chromebook 11 N7. The new Chromebook from Acer is a great option for clumsy users, and its simplicity is one thing many users will surely love. Acer designed the new Chromebook for users who are clumsy and not so careful while working on gadgets that are not waterproof or spill-proof.

The latest Chromebook 11 N7 which was showcased at the recently concluded CES 2017 is 100% certified to come with military grade strength and durability. Acer disclosed at the product unveiling in Las Vegas that the newest addition to their computing devices could withstand drops from the height of approximately 48″ or 122cm and comes with a spill-resistant keyboard, which is a great relief for users who are often exposed to liquid or drinks while working on their portable computing devices.

Normally, laptops are tested to fall from table height, which is nominally set at 32 or 36 inches. Also, laptops are also tested for spills. The design of a regular laptop has a small indentation where the keyboard rests, but this also forms a seal which protects the computer internal from any spilled liquid. The Chromebook 11 N7, was built to higher standards.

Acer guarantees that the Chromebook adheres to the USA Military Standards or MIL-STD 810G and is specially manufactured for a classroom setting and similar environments. The new laptop has a 12 hour of battery life, and it is a one-of-a-kind fanless laptop design. This means, your computing device will never get noisy when used inside the classroom, libraries, or related venues.

Nominal classroom setting would have the laptop at about 3-feet high, and with little chances of liquid spilling. College students are not the primary market of Chromebooks, although they would still be able to use the laptop. The main idea behind the laptop was to be used by elementary schools all over the world. However, because there is no assurance that the computer would be used in ideal classroom conditions, the spill-proof quality is a welcome feature.

The device can handle 60 kgs or 132 lbs of downward pressure on its cover, while the hard case and hinges can endure twisting or any blunt force. If you want a hardcore, heavy-duty laptop that does not compromise form and functionality, then the new Acer Chromebook 11 N7 is the best option anyone can get.

Its keyboard can withstand spills of up to 330ml of water or fluid. Chromebook has been the standard for education and technology, and so the new Acer Chromebook is made to stand the many demands of education and can be utilized in the classrooms and labs. The design is very durable, quiet with its fanless design and a portable form factor that makes it very easy to carry around.

A fan-less design is an important indication of how serious Acer designed this notebook. For one, a fan would mean one more electrical mechanism. For another, a fan is another moving part. If a liquid spilled on the fan, it would splash this everywhere. When spilled, most notebooks would have to be drained in one way or another and then dried, preferably with a desiccant. The Acer Chromebook, having fewer chances of spilled liquid getting inside its components would mean that it can be used almost immediately even in a case of a spill on the keyboard.

The brand new Acer Chromebook 11 N7 is powered by an Intel Celeron dual-core processor, with an 11.6” IPS touchscreen display that comes with a resolution of 1366×768. The laptop’s hinge can be opened to up to 180 degrees and may be laid flat on a table or even surface.

The Chromebook is spill resistant, so you do not have to worry when you accidentally spill soda or coffee on it. A unique gutter system right under its keyboard will drain water and route it away from the internal components and straight to the bottom chassis. Aside from that Acer made sure that the recessed keys will make it hard for students to easily remove key caps. Aside from fans and drives, the key caps are the only things which move on a laptop. Making sure that removing key caps is hard to do also ensures that these will not be removed inadvertently. Removing key caps compromises the spill-proof quality of the notebook.

Acer has been known as the standard when it comes to education technology. The new laptop device – Chromebook 11 N7 is expected to set the bar a notch higher concerning what schools and universities can use within classrooms and work labs.

The Chromebook was designed to be an educational laptop and sold at a very affordable price point. The target market is schools which cannot afford more expensive desktops. Chromebooks run on the Chrome OS, a Linux-based operating system designed by Google. The principal interface of Chrome OS is the Chrome browser, because of which, it mainly supports web apps.

It promises military grade durability, amazing features, quiet fanless functioning and a portable form factor that no one can easily resist – all in one great packaging. If you work near liquid stuff and you are worried this can cause issues with your portable computing device; then the new Chromebook 11 N7 is the best laptop for you.
