Nokia came into the tech market early in the year with the Nokia 6, and the whole world was thrown into a frenzy as it became the beacon of hope for the smartphone company which had suffered massive decline in fan base over the years especially following its uneventful partnership with Microsoft which beget the almost failed Lumia series.
However, the company came into the year with a whole lot of promises selling the Nokia 6 out fast in one minute when it was introduced to Chinese e-commerce website, JD.com. However the sad news was that HDM Global, Nokia’s new partner announced that the device would not b made available worldwide as it centered it on the Chinese market.
The news did little to spoil the enthusiasm as Nokia came back with the announcement that it would be bringing back the N-series of smartphone and the legendary Nokia 3310.
With the Nokia 3310 rebirth, the company promised a longer lasting battery life on one charge and of course brought back the legendary snake game on the device which launched at the Mobile World Congress 2017.
HMD Global made no mistake in noting that the device will come into the market with some significant change which includes switchable faceplates which give the device am added custom edge to suit user’s taste per time.
Other redesigns which came with the rebooted Nokia 3310 includes the refined retro styling, and the much noticeable and familiar rounded-rectangle shape. The device as in the older version comes with physical buttons with a big select button which gives a huge throwback to the days of multi-text typing on the device which measures 115.6 x 51 x 12.8 mm.
However, the smaller size compared to most new phones may bet the factor behind its thickness as it boasted of a 2.4-inch screen with a resolution of 320 x 240 and fitted with a modest 2MP camera. The device is equipped with a new audio integration and supports FM radio and MP3 playback although the onboard memory is a tiny 16MB, but on the brighter side, it comes with a microSD card slot which supports up to 32 GB memory expansion
The rebooted Nokia 3310 comes into the market in two different variants which allow users choose between working with one SIM or two SIM cards and on the battery front comes with a removable 1,200 mAh battery which HDM Global says can last up to 22.1 hours of talk time. Th Battery also supports as much as 39 hours of FM radio listening and a total of 51 hours of MP3 playback. Altogether the device according to its manufacturers can last as much as 31 days on standby.
Nokia incorporated the Micro-USB charging port on the device in case you need to charge it.
HDM Global is however yet to issue word on availability of the device although it is expected to be circulated across the globe as early as the second quarter of the year. The device is also supposed to come into the market in various color options including red, yellow, gray or dark blue and available for about $52.Google+
