We’ve all been there: that wonderment and joy that the speed of our new smartphones brought us being slowly replaced by frustration and anger as our phones grow sluggish and unresponsive. It is such a common pathway that we have come to feel that it cannot be avoided. However, this is wrong; there is, in fact, many things you can do to keep your smartphone running in tip-top condition.
First off, you have to install a task manager on your phone and then use it! Yourtask manager shows what apps are on and running. The higher this number is, the slower your smartphone will be. Check your smartphone a couple times a day and turn off those apps that you don’t need to be on. Oh, and not only will this speed up your system, it will reduce its demand on your phone’s battery.
The next step to take to keep your device running as if it were new is to free up its RAM. While using your task manager will do some of this, you also need to delete your web browsing history from time to time, dump your phone’s cache, and completely uninstall apps that you no longer need. There are plenty of free apps that will do this for you.
You also need to realize that your phone can be attacked by malware, viruses, and evil (or just dumb) apps just as your old-timey desktop computer can be. Therefore, you have got to install an antivirus app. All of the big computer-protection names such as Norton, Lookout, and Avast have free versions for smartphones.
Another area to look at when keeping your phone up to speed is your online life. Ask yourself just how many accounts do you really need and then check how many your phone automatically connects to. Close and delete those accounts you no longer need.Google+
